Marathon recording session for second album
Mojo Bones spent Saturday 13th January 2007 at Woodworm Studios in Oxfordshire, recording for their second album. The title, tracklist and release date of the album have yet to be announced, but if the band's commitment to it is any indicator, it should be a really hot one! With the patient and expert supervision of studio owner and sound engineer Steve Hill, the boys managed to lay down the 'bare bones' of 8 entire tracks in just 9 hours of actual studio time (minus coffee and lunch breaks!) That's some going, even for a professional band! Progress, needless to say, was rapid pretty much from the start, as engineer Steve Hill listened to our requirements and immediately set the studio up for the band's needs. Two or three songs were down even before lunch (in a nearby pub, of course...) and the afternoon session ploughed on in a whirl of creativity as the songs got more complicated to record. At the end of the day, there was much swearing and sweating as the last song recorded (a particularly long and tiring one which had to be recorded in one go) caused take after take and nearly killed off some of the bandmembers. However, the results are the exciting basis of Mojo Bones' second album, which looks set to be even better than the first. You can listen to sample tracks from that - and order it - from our shop. You can view the photo gallery of the day's events by clicking here, and you can also subscribe to the Mojo Bones e-mail newsletter if you want to find about more about when the second album is coming out... 15th January 2007 [top]
